Experience Buffalo Junction

Buffalo Junction

Just beyond the gates of Buffalo Point is downtown Waukomis, which the Andersons have also invested in as a means to preserve the historic town. They have created new infrastructure and redeveloped a portion of the downtown area, named Buffalo Junction, which is helping to celebrate and cement Waukomis’s legacy as the thriving agricultural destination it once was before urban development drove much of its population into cities throughout the 20th century.

Buffalo Junction is a charming strip of newly opened local businesses including Mo’s Place café, serving gourmet coffee and hometown-style dishes, the newly reinvigorated Shorty’s barbershop, Painted Buffalo Trading Co. boutique gift shop, and the Chapel of Joy venue for wedding ceremonies. A new Buffalo Junction residential apartment complex and interactive mural and sculpture park dedicated to the pioneers who started Waukomis are also located on the downtown strip.

Located four blocks from the property, guests of Buffalo Point have walkable access to the newly redeveloped downtown destination.
